Overview
We were asked to develop lodging accommodation for a semi desert environment, located in rural municipalities in Querétaro. The lodging is themed to resemble an old west wagon, providing a cowboy experience with some of the modern commodities to supply some degree of comfort.
We had to also design the wagon production, which included questions related to production, maintenance, transportation, usability, and most importantly, how can we align the wagon theme with the local resources and suppliers, and provide an overall good experience all within the client's budget.
After aligning the design, we then focused on the experience we wanted to deliver. It wasn’t just about the interaction between the user and the wagon that encompassed the entire experience. This was also part of a larger business model in the tourism sector. Our associate, an expert in cattle farming, saw this as an opportunity to generate additional income through tourism, and to show people about sustainable cattle farming, which often contradicts popular belief.
The experience aimed to demonstrate that cattle can coexist harmoniously with the environment, highlighting that while not all land is suitable for agriculture, we can still maximize the value of land with supports cattle farming.
